Bandai Namcos Hyoja Title Elden Ring cumulative sales of more than 16.6 million copies.

The total sales of Prom Software, Elden Ring, exceeded 16.6 million copies.

This was confirmed in the earnings announcement of Bandai Namco in the first quarter of 2023 (from April to June 2022). According to the announcement, cumulative sales have surpassed 16.6 million copies since the release of Eldon Ring. Thanks to the sales of Elden Ring, Bandai Namco Holdings’ quarterly sales and operating profit also increased 21.5% and 64.3% YoY, respectively, 2,162 billion yen (about 2.1 trillion won), 44.3 billion yen (about 431.8 billion won), respectively. Recorded.

The Elden Ring was released on February 25 and has been popular since its inception. On March 16, only a month after its launch, it has already sold 12 million copies. In terms of numbers alone, the average sales volume has dropped sharply, but this can be seen as a relative difference in the initial response.

16.6 million copies are also the highest among all works of Prom Software. In the Dark Soul series trilogy, a total of 27 million copies were sold in all three.

According to the overall sales of Bandai Namco Game Software, sales increased by 54.6% year-on-year to 40.5 billion yen (about 395.1 billion won), and sales volume increased 13.7% to 1,1444,000. Although there was no large title released in the quarter, Bandai Namco said it was able to achieve results through the sale of previous quarter-release works such as the Elden Ring.

Meanwhile, Prom Software was confirmed that the next work was at the end in June, when it was faster than expected since the launch of the Elden Ring.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of Elden Ring, said in a local media interview in late June that he was in the final stage of development. However, the other details of the work are not known.
