We are simply death. Now we have silver, but just feels like the last place. It does me death silence for Thomas, said the blasted Schmidberger, First everything started, then did not ran well anymore, Explanation, and I’m not looking for you now. A 2: 0 lead is never in such a game, on my level, never give up.

Already in 2012 in London and 2016 in Rio, Schmidberger and Brüchle had each lost the final against the Chinese. Schmidberger also defeated Rio and now in Tokyo in the single final against Panfeng Feng. It is thus his fifth silver medal at Paralympics, he still waits for gold, all final games lost him against China.

In a double, the German duo first had Zhai and Feng with 3: 2 branches (11: 8, 15:13, 4:11, 7:11, 11: 9). Subsequently, the 45-year-old Brühle from Frickenhausen against exceptional player Feng was good, but had to be beaten with 1: 3 (13:11, 3:11, 8:11, 9:11).
